The UNSW School of Population Health awards recognise excellence in teaching, research, service and engagement. This award is conferred to Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates enrolled in the UNSW School of Population Health. Recipients of the Higher degree research excellence award have demonstrated excellence in research during their candidature.

Earning Criteria

Awarded annually. The award is for excellence demonstrated in the previous 12 months (1 July – 30 June). SPH HDR candidates may self-nominate, or a SPH staff member (including supervisors) may nominate HDR candidates enrolled in the School. The nominator submits a written application detailing how the nominee has demonstrated excellence. Applications are assessed by a panel including: Head of School, Director (or Deputy Director) of Research or PGC and an external level D academic or above.
