This Deakin Hallmark warrants the achievement of preservice teachers who have used their outstanding teamwork skills to effect positive educational impact. The award recognises the essential role that teamwork plays in the employability of educators who must work and learn collaboratively with diverse groups of students, parents or carers, and colleagues, to design and deliver curriculum that engages students in meaningful learning.

Earning Criteria

To receive this Deakin Hallmark, students undertaking initial teacher education courses at Deakin University must submit a digital artefact that provides compelling evidence of the Hallmark standards and criteria.

Achievement of the Hallmark was judged by a panel of experts within the education sector, including representatives from course teams, sector employers and professional partners (e.g. principals, teachers, site directors, recent graduates).

The Criteria and Standards for this Deakin Hallmark are endorsed by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

The standards were developed in consultation with representatives from diverse areas of the Teaching Profession, including: the Victorian Institute of Teaching, Deakin & Community Childcare Centre, Leopold Primary School, Newcomb Secondary School, Woorana Park Primary School, Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership, Mooroolbark Deakin Alliance, Deakin preservice teachers and graduates, Deakin Institute of Koorie Education, Deakin Library and Deakin School of Education.
