This Deakin Hallmark warrants the achievement of students who have used outstanding problem solving skills to evaluate, synthesise, and prioritise information to formulate a case management plan for a fictitious client, in keeping with core client-centred and family-centred practice principals. The case management plan involved the prioritisation of client goals, identification of barriers, and strategic utilisation of team and community resources to support achievement of the client’s goals.

To achieve this Deakin Hallmark, students in the Bachelor of Psychological Science must learn the principles of case management, prepare a care plan using provided case notes, and defend the plan (and the problem-solving behind the plan), to a panel of disciplinary experts, including representatives of the course team and Department of Health and Human Services.
